I love cooking and since I do not have work for the next two days, I decided to cook for my family. My nephews and nieces are coming over and I know that they love my spaghetti with monster meatballs. Unlike the regular Italian pasta, my spaghetti falls on the sweet side that is why kids love it.
So friends, for day 156 of my 366 Project, I present to you my spaghetti with monster meatballs. Here is how it is done. Of course, I do not claim that this is an original recipe. I just added my own twist to the world famous dish and found the technique that my nephews and nieces truly love.
For the meatballs, you will need to mix 1 pound of ground pork and 1 pound of ground beef. Put in some salt and pepper to taste. I also like to put some Worcestershire sauce for more flavor. Then, shape them into big balls hence the term monster meatballs. Deep fry the meatballs until golden brown.
For the spaghetti, cook the noodles according to package instructions although I usually take the pasta out of the boiling water with 1-2 minutes to spare from the recommended cooking time. We will still bake the pasta later so I do not want the noodles to be mushy.
For the sauce, saute minced garlic and onions then add the tomato sauce. Let it simmer then add a small can of condensed milk. This will give it a sweet blend and creamy texture. Let it simmer again then add the grated cheese and herbs. Simmer again then turn the heat off.
Arrange the spaghetti noodles in a tray then pour the pasta sauce and meatballs and add more grated cheese on top. Bake it for 8mins or until the cheese melts.
