QUESTION AND ANSWER WITH JOSH KUMRA

Who are your musical inspirations?

Growing up, I listened to Tracy Chapman, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, and Ray Lamontagne. I was so inspired by their music. This also explains why I prefer different genres of music and that is also how I want to classify my songs. I do not want to be boxed up into one category. I enjoy trying out different genres. It all boils down to passion and dedication and giving it all your best.

Who are you listening to right now on your playlist?

Currently, I’m enjoying the sounds of Lisa Maffia, Levi Jaden Bratton, Alice and the Lovers, Jim Blair, and Vant. I really enjoy their songs.

What is your favorite song from your album?

My favorite song is “Find My Way Home.” It talks of longing to find and settle down with the one you love. It is what we are all longing for. You feel like you are going to lose your mind without the love of your life. And in the end, you just want to find your way home, back into her arms to hold you tight and reassure you that no matter what happens in this life, everything is going to be alright.

What is your favorite pastime?

I like cooking Indian and Italian dishes. I also love watching Later with Jools Holland. I also like reading books, working out at the gym, and sleeping when I am not working.

Why did you decide to pursue music?

For me, music is something that I was meant to do. I learned the guitar on my own. I learned singing and songwriting on my own. My passion drove me to learn these things and to dream that I could do better and share this gift with the rest of the world. Well, I guess we can now say that I am living my dream.
